Science and research fight the SARS-CoV-2/Covid-19 pandemic – join the conference!
The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, in a close cooperation with the Research, Development and Innovation Council, Czech Academy of Sciences and Czech Rectors Conference, invite you to take part in the conference “Science and research in the fight against the SARS-CoV-2/Covid-19 pandemic – Research infrastructure as a part of the critical infrastructure of the state”. The conference will be held on Wednesday, 15th July 2020 in the premises of the Milan Hašek Auditorium in the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences. The purpose of the conference is to present the importance of research infrastructure, and the science and research in general, for fighting the health and socioeconomic impacts of the pandemic outbreak caused by the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus strain and Covid-19 disease. The morning session of the conference programme will focus on the mission of research infrastructures that have confirmed their role as one of the vital components of the critical infrastructure of the state, by providing knowledge expertise and technology capacities and capabilities for the development of diagnostics, vaccines and treatments, as well as by contributing to the crisis management and mitigation of the societal impacts of the pandemic. Following the morning session, the afternoon part of the conference programme will aim to introduce good practice examples of applications developed by Czech research organisations to mitigate the impacts of the pandemic on the daily life of civil society.
Both in person and virtual participation in the conference is free of charge.
The conference will be held in Czech with translation into English (webstream only).
The video-recording of the conference will be made available in Czech and English.
The auditorium capacity is limited due to the epidemiologic precautions. When the maximum capacity of the auditorium is reached, the registration will be terminated. Nevertheless, all interested parties may join the event virtually via the above-mentioned webstream link.
