This time the topic of the conference in the Senate will be the secondary use of clinical data
What opportunities does data sharing and processing offer in clinical trials? What are the current challenges of secondary use of clinical data? How do we look at the issue on a national level and how on an European level? This will be the subject of the 5th National Day of Clinical Trials 2022 in Prague.
The conference will traditionally take place on the occasion of the International Day of Clinical Trials with the professional cooperation of the PharmAround Foundation and the CZECRIN Research Infrastructure, which is the national node of the European Clinical Research Infrastructures Network (ECRIN). It will take place under the auspices of the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Health and Social Policy of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, prof. MUDr. Jan Žaloudík, CSc.
“Sharing and reusing study data is important for patients because it accelerates the development of new treatments and their availability in practice. It’s also a way to reduce the burden and number of patients needed in the trials by not repeating what has already been tested. “
The conference will be divided into 3 blocks and will cover the following topics: secondary use of clinical data from the perspective of major institutions (eg MZČR, SÚKL, VZP and others), current challenges of secondary use of data from the perspective of health care providers and a presentation of current legislation.
“The future of clinical research belongs to working more efficiently with the data that already exists. The development of new data processing technologies, including artificial intelligence, can completely replace some types of clinical trials and thus reduce the burden on patients and physicians involved in research.” Says Dr. Adam Svobodník, Medical Data Analyst (LF MU, CZECRIN).
Topics will be discussed by representatives from ministries, the State Institute for Drug Control and medical facilities.
